Session 4 – Fraud Risk Management
Priscilla Lai joined the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) of British Columbia in 2020 after spending 15 years as an audit principal and other roles at the OAG of Alberta. In Alberta, she worked on both financial and performance audits spanning the energy, health, and post-secondary education sectors. Priscilla is passionate about public sector audits and has continued that work in B.C. She is currently responsible for the financial audits of numerous large crown corporations, ministries, and other organizations in the province. Recently, she helped deliver the office’s fraud risk management audit of the Site C Dam and Hydroelectric Energy Project at BC Hydro. At an estimated cost of $16 billion, Site C is the largest and most expensive infrastructure project in B.C.’s history!
Outside of work, Priscilla enjoys the west coast lifestyle and warmer weather in B.C. – allowing her to spend more time outdoors with her family. When she’s not delving into a financial audit, or biking around Vancouver to get her favourite cup of coffee, she loves going to Disneyland and other amusement parks with her family.
