PSMW - Public Sector Management Workshop - Understand The Big Drivers of Change

Supply chain disruption, cybersecurity response trends, HR recruitment & retention challenges, working with the elected, future of work and workplace flexibility, artificial intelligence/RPA, mental health and wellness, leadership, and many others are among the hottest topics facing a fast-changing public sector today. What do they mean, what are leading organizations doing about them, how can we be better prepared, where do we go from here? These are among the most overriding and topical questions facing governments at all levels!

Hosted by the Financial Management Institute of Canada (the longest standing most established learning provider of its kind in the country), this in-person event will be held in the beautiful City of Regina, Saskatchewan, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre, June 5 – 6, 2023, with a pre-event delegate reception on Sunday, June 4th.

Meet the program planning committee

Veronica Gelowitz

PSMW 2023 Honorary Co-Chair

We are pleased to have Veronica Gelowitz,  Deputy Minister, Ministry of Environment with the Government of Saskatchewan as this year’s Honorary Co-Chair for PSMW.

Veronica’s career with the Saskatchewan public service spans more than 30 years with various ministries and organizations, including her roles as Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services and Policy Division at the Ministry of Environment, and Executive Director, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer at Tourism Saskatchewan, where she played a lead role in the organization’s transition to a Treasury Board Crown Corporation. Veronica holds a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant designation and a Bachelor of Administration Degree from the University of Regina.

Veronica was a past FMI Regina Chapter President from 2015 to 2017 and a member of the executive from 2007 to 2015.

Mike Pestill

Mike is the Chair of the PSMW 2023 Organizing Committee and served as FMI’s National Board Chair, 2008-10. In 2013, he was named one of 50 people in Canada who shaped the success of fmi*igf over the organization’s first 50 years.

Brent Appel

Brent is the President of FMI Saskatchewan and is in charge of Billing and Revenue Assurance at SaskTel, a Saskatchewan Crown Corporation.

Sean Gottschall

Sean is a part of the Board of Directors for the FMI Saskatchewan Chapter as the Director of Partnership & Promotions.  He has been with the Federal Public Service for over 15 years with Employment & Social Development Canada and oversees FMI Saskatchewan social media for the event as well as additional logistical support.

Brent Nadon

Brent has been an FMI board member for the last 9 years and served as vice president and president of the local chapter. He has recently started a new role as the Deputy Director of Operations and Chief Financial Officer for the Prairie Valley School Division.
